Mount & Aim Cameras

Mounting the Cameras

Mount all cameras using the provided electrical mounting box. Electrical mounting boxes are specific to each camera model and provided by SCW.
If any areas around the electrical mounting box are susceptible to water-damage of the camera or cable, use the correct type of conduit and seal the electrical mounting box with silicone.
Use the provided RJ45 Weatherproof Adapters to protect connections.

RJ45 Weatherproof Adapters are necessary for outdoor and indoor camera locations.

Aiming the Cameras

Since you have installed and provisioned the NVR first, you can now use the SCW Go Mobile App to aim cameras as you install them.

Simply plug the camera in using its designated port on the NVR or network switch, add the newly installed camera to the system, and aim the camera using the App on your phone.

Aiming cameras as you go will save you the time of re-visiting each camera once they have all been installed.

When aiming cameras, please take into account:

Nothing in the cameras field of view will cause issues with IR-BounceBack (surfaces that cause excessive amounts of glare in the image).
No negative space in the cameras field of view (excessive amounts of sky, walls, ceiling).
No obstructions to the cameras field of view (trees, utilities, moveable objects).

Each camera has a specific purpose. Whether it is supposed to view doors, personnel, vehicles, or product; it is important that each camera serves its purpose. Refer back to the notes in the SOW document and feedback from the POC to ensure each field of view includes its intended target when mounting and aiming cameras.
