Set Up Remote Viewing Software

https://www.youtube.com/embed/BlOq8Dgu7YI

SCW Technical Support will be available to assist in setting up the POC’s devices. It is important that you make sure this step has been completed before you try to close out the work order.

SCW will not consider any installation to be complete until the client has been set up with remote viewing software.

For additional training on SCW’s Remote Viewing Software, have the POC reach out to SCW Technical Support at (828)352-2242.

If necessary, the SCW Project Manager can coordinate additional training sessions with SCW Technical Support and the POC.

Naming Cameras

  • Once everything has been installed and the customer is now able to view their cameras, it is time to go through and name them. Naming their cameras will allow the customer to organize their views and easily navigate through their system. It also helps when trying to retrieve footage or view playback.

    • SCW Support is available to assist in naming cameras, or you can follow the simple instructions outlined in this video:

    • Menu > Camera > OSD > Click “Name” Field > Enter Desired Name for Camera.

Recording Settings

  • Unless otherwise specified by the POC, we prefer all cameras to be set to “Motion” recording. This frees up space on the customers NVR and allows the Hard Drives to store more relevant footage.

    • SCW Support is available to assist in setting up motion recording, or you can follow the simple instructions outlined in this video:

    • Setup > Camera > Motion > Select Camera > Click “On”

  • There are some instances where a client requests a custom recording schedule. They may have areas of their site where nothing happens during certain days of the week. They may also have areas that need recording 24/7 due to high pedestrian traffic.

    • SCW Support is available to assist in setting up recording schedules, or you can follow the simple instructions outlined in this video:

    • Setup > Schedule > Select “Normal, Event, or Motion” > Highlight days and times where that type of recording will be necessary.

Complete View Approval Form with the POC

  • The View Approval Form for your specific installation will have been uploaded to the work order as a Required Closeout Document. Print this document prior to arriving on site. Review each camera view with the customer and have them sign off on them as you go. If the POC is not happy with a camera view, make a note and adjust its view to their liking. The signed and completed View Approval Form will be uploaded to the work order as a Required Closeout Document. It is necessary for a completed installation.

Make sure the POC understands that service calls to adjust camera views after approval will be subject to billing at an hourly rate.

Document the Installation

Once every aspect of the installation has been completed, SCW requires certain photographs to be uploaded to the work order.

SCW will not consider any installation to be complete until we have the following:

Labeled photos of each camera view from a monitor or laptop.

Labeled photo of each mounted camera.

Labelled photo of installed NVR and additional network equipment (Ubiquiti’s, Network Switches, etc.)

Photo of the NVR’s network information page.

Photo of the QR Code from the NVR for adding to the software via P2P.

Photo of all cameras online.

Photo of completed Wattbox provisioning sheet.

Success!

Congratulations. Once you have completed the steps in this guide, you have delivered a completed camera system including software setup, customer training, and documentation. We really appreciate your attention to detail and look forward to more SCW camera system installations!
